Charitable Campaign Committee

At my work, I was nominated to be a representative for the Charitable Campaign Committee (CCC). The CCC is a fundraising organization through the county whose purpose it is to collect money for the United Way and its respective organizations. As part of my job as a representative, I answer questions regarding donations and general information about the program. So far I am in the initial start up portion of the program but am excited to get going with the members of the Treasurers office. I know giving a little donation here and there shows kindness towards others and is a great opportunity to help those that have a hard time helping themselves.

Congratulations on your nomination. I know things are tough right now for most people, so any help we are able to give I am sure will be a blessing for them. It's that time for us as well, this year they came up with a good slogan, "one dollar that is all it takes" or something to that extent.

I guess they figured that if we contribute one dollar per pay period, totalling to $26 bucks a year, whey will raise $77,000.00 for charity. It sounds wonderful if you ask me, besides two bucks a month I will miss, and in reality they can make all the difference for some people.

So happy giving. I just figured too, that we have to be greatful for what we do have, and sharing brings us automatic abundance.

Well congratulations, again.

It should be interesting to see how fruitful your efforts are in lieu of the economic crisis we are facing. I went to a City Council meeting in Apache Junction last week, and the City Council cut social health funding (for food banks, etc.) by 20%. AJ had traditionally given money to this food shelter, but it a budget crisis could no longer afford to do so.

If a government can't do it, I can imagine that personal contributions would also suffer.
